Nothing Headphone 1: Entering the Over-Ear Arena with Pure Style and Sound

By Mohit Singhania | Updated: 25 June 2025

If you thought Nothing was done shaking up the audio game with their iconic earbuds, think again. On July 1, 2025, alongside the much-anticipated Phone 3, Nothing will debut its first-ever over-ear headphones — the stylishly mysterious Nothing Headphone 1.

And from what we know so far, this is more than just a pretty face. It’s a statement — a declaration that Nothing is coming for the big players like Sony, Bose, and Apple.

First Look: Design That Speaks (Without Saying a Word)

As expected from Nothing, Headphone 1 will feature a bold and transparent design language — continuing the brand’s aesthetic of revealing what’s usually hidden. Early teasers suggest a clean over-ear build, with hints of LED lighting elements that nod to the signature Glyph design, but reimagined for a more premium category.

Even better? These cans are being co-developed with British audio giant KEF, known for their hi-fi mastery.

That’s like Nothing saying: “We’re not just making headphones — we’re crafting sound machines.”

What to Expect (Besides Great Looks)

While the full spec sheet is under wraps, here’s what leaks and insiders are hinting at:

  • Studio-grade sound with large drivers — possibly custom-tuned by KEF.
  • Advanced noise cancellation (ANC) to rival Bose QuietComfort and AirPods Max.
  • Transparency mode, dual-device connectivity, and ultra-low latency for gamers.
  • AI-powered sound optimization for adapting EQ profiles to your surroundings.
  • Wireless charging and USB-C fast charging.
  • Battery life expected to be 40–50 hours — putting it toe-to-toe with Sony’s WH-1000XM5.

And yes, it’ll work seamlessly with Nothing OS — but will also support multi-platform Bluetooth for universal use.

Expected Pricing

Industry insiders and early listings hint that Nothing Headphone 1 will launch globally around $299 (approx. ₹24,999 in India).

This puts it in direct competition with:

  • Sony WH-1000XM5
  • Bose QC45
  • Apple AirPods Max (slightly more premium)

With a design-first approach and audiophile collaborations, Nothing is banking on performance + personality — not just specs.

Launch Date & Availability

The official launch is set for:
July 1, 2025 – 6 PM BST / 10:30 PM IST

Nothing CEO Carl Pei announced at SXSW London that the company will unveil its first over-ear headphones, Nothing Headphone 1, on July 1, 2025, alongside the Nothing Phone 3. (business-standard.com)

Availability is expected to begin mid-July in India, Europe, and the US.
